Storm Shield
Storm Shield
A storm shield is a rubber threshold that is installed underneath a garage door to prevent water, snow, insects, rodents and leaves from entering your garage. It is installed between the existing garage door and the concrete of your garage floor.
Storm shields are 3 1/8” in size and should be installed on a concrete clean & dry floor. The optimal temperature to install a storm shield should be at temperatures above 40°F (5°C). Storm shields are not recommended for installation on asphalt, painted or treated surfaces nor on broken concrete or gravel. The storm shield is adhered to the floor with industrial glue or epoxy.
Here are some advantages to having a storm shield installed:
- Reduces heating costs.
- Prevents weather strips from freezing.
- Can be driven over with a car, truck or lawnmower.
- These are extra strong and can withstand even the most extreme of weather conditions.
Having a storm shield installed is an easy and inexpensive way to improve the performance of your garage door.
A storm shield has an exclusive 2 year warranty on parts. The manufacturer guarantees a full 2 year warranty on threshold and adhesive materials (labour is not included).
